SHIRLEY BOENING has maintained a private piano studio in College Station for 28 years and has taught Kindermusik for 18 years. She is the owner and director of Kindermusik of College Station-Bryan and is licensed by Kindermusik International. Ms. Boening is also certified in the areas of applied piano and music education by the Music Teachers National Association. She is a faculty member of and adjudicator for the National Piano Guild of Piano Teachers and is a member of the Piano Guild’s Hall of Fame. Ms. Boening obtained her degree from Texas Lutheran University where she studied with Anita Windecker. CHRIS RODE BORCHARDT has maintained a private piano studio in College Station for the past 21 years and has taught Kindermusik for the past 12 years. Ms. Borchardt graduated from the University of New Orleans with a Bachelor of Arts degree in music history with a specialization in piano. Ms. Borchardt has also taught music at St. Thomas Early Learning Center for ten years. She is a faculty member and adjudicator for the National Piano Guild of Piano Teachers and the American College of Musicians. She is also certified by the Music Teachers National Association in the areas of music history and music education. CHRISTY BRUMBELOW is a native of Atlanta, Georgia. She graduated from Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina, earning a BS in Elementary Education and a BA in Fine Arts with specialization in music. During her college years she was the accompanist for Sunday services at a local church and assisted with the college choir. After college Mrs. Brumbelow taught elementary school for eight years. She was the accompanist for several childrens' choirs and sang with the Peachtree Road United Methodist Church choir in Atlanta for many years before moving to College Station in 2002. Her family has loved being involved in Kindermusik over the last few years.JACLYN JOHNSON native of Round Rock, TX, moved to College Station in August 2006. She earned a BA in music with a minor in theater from the University of Miami. While there she sang in the university chorale, with whom she sang at ACDA in NYC, and was a cantor at her parish. She then moved home to Round Rock where she directed the music program at her parish and taught voice lessons at Round Rock High School. She has sung with the Brazos Valley Chorale and performed in the “King and I” at The Theatre Company in the fall of 2006. LORA RILEY is a 1997 graduate of Texas A&M University. She particularly enjoyed studying child development while pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Ms. Riley has always had a love for music. She studied the flute and participated in individual and team country western dance competitions. Ms. Riley describes her role as a Kindermusik Educator as, “a dream come true and honor to enrich the lives of children through music and sign language.” She became interested in American Sign Language while signing with her own child, and continually strives to broaden her knowledge of ASL. Ms. Riley has been impressed over the past three years by the wonderful experience her own children have had at Kindermusik of College Station-Bryan. JAMIE WISDOM is a native of Washington State. She graduated from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington, earning a Bachelor of Music Education degree with a specialization in K-12 instrumental music. During her college years she performed with the University Wind Ensemble and the University Flute Choir, as well as performing around the community with the Silver Sounds Flute Ensemble. After college Mrs. Wisdom taught elementary and junior high band in Sumner, Washington for 4 years. She also maintained a private flute studio until moving to College Station in 2006. |
